BIOGRAPHY :

Formed in 1978, THE RADIATORS are one of the most successful national touring acts today, performing 150+ shows a year and continuing to sell out venues such as The Great American Music Hall in San Francisco and Irving Plaza in New York. Renown for experimental grooves which blend classic New Orleans funk, gritty rock n’ roll, Delta blues, a hint of country and eclectic samplings of jazz melodies.
The original line up has remained solid for 28 years. The band consists of: Ed Volker, keyboard and vocals; Dave Malone, guitar and vocals; Camile Baudoin, guitar; Reggie Scanlan, bass; and Frank Bua, drums. Although members of the band have played as sidemen with New Orleans legends Professor Longhair, Dr. John, James Booker and Earl King, they are best known for their 28 years on the road and in the studio as The Radiators.
As the Radiators’ sound and stage show have been influenced by jam bands of the sixties and seventies such as The Grateful Dead and the Allman Brothers Band, so have younger jam bands listed the Radiators as a major influence.
Many of this band’s annual performances have become destination events for fans around the world including Mardi Gras costume balls, marathon New Year’s Eve shows and private krewe events held during Jazz Fest. Most recently the band has invited good friends on stage including: Warren Haynes, John Popper, Bob Weir and Greg Allman to perform Radiators’ originals and take “fishhead music” to new heights.
After Hurricane Katrina, the Radiators were featured live online and in prime time for VH-1’s worldwide hurricane relief telethon. The Radiators have given back to their community by donating their own tracks to various fund raiser albums and downloads.
The Radiators’ web site, www.theradiators.org, provides 1,000s of their hardcore fans, known as fishheads, to a place to discuss the band through listservs, find their latest music release and support the passionate New Orleans music community that the Radiators’ have helped build around the world.
