ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: How do I get a free ticket to a show, a free CD, a free t-shirt, etc? A: Theres no such thing as a free lunch, but can you put a price on music?!?! Probably the most frequently asked question is how do you, the street team member, get physically reimbursed for your efforts. The quickest answer, fill out the feedback report and send it to us full of useful information. The ideal answer, the music should be your motivation. Usually, a ticket can be earned by promoting a specific show in your area. If you have not contacted us, and we have subsequently not sent you materials, you will not receive a ticket. If we have sent you a promotional pack containing posters and/or handbills promoting a specific show, YOU MUST FILL OUT A FEEDBACK REPORT. Free merchandise is usually sent out to those street team members who have been working any of SCI Fidelitys projects (i.e. albums, mini-incidents, radio, etc.) thoroughly in their area. Again, this information is gathered by our compiling YOUR FEEDBACK REPORTS. Q: Can I bring a guest? A: Generally, no. Sometimes, if we send you an amazing amount of promotional materials, it would only make sense for someone to help you distribute them, in which case, yes, you could bring a guest. However, we are aware of the amount of materials being sent, and will usually suggest you find some help for another ticket (we do expect the efforts of two people to be reflected in the feedback reports). Q: What if there are already posters promoting the SCI FI artists up? A: Thats great! It means lots of people are doing their job in supporting these artists. Never underestimate the usefulness of a telephone poll (on a popular walking st.), or your grocery store. Get creative. Ask a record store clerk if you could make a display instead of just handing them posters. Try your favorite bars bathrooms. Q: What is a guest list and how does it work? A: First, You must get your feedback report to us THREE days prior to the show to be placed on the guest list. Just bring your photo ID to the will call/box office window and let them know you're on the guest list. Please be courteous and patient. The people behind those windows are not affiliated with SCI FI or the artist. Sometimes mistakes are made so please be patient and understanding. If you do have a problem with the guest list, explain that you work on the street team and if there is someone with the band that you could talk to, it would be very helpful. Explain your situation to whomever is trying to help you, calmly, and hopefully everything works out! Q: There arent enough venue/store forms for my feedback report! A: Well thats fantastic!! Just send us another one. Just keep filling them out. Q: Can I only go to the stores/venues you list? A: NO!!! These are only suggestions. PLEASE go to every location you think would be seen by lots of people who would go see the artists you are promoting. In addition, PLEASE let Hogan know if there are more stores that should be contacted, better places to poster, specific college campus locations, etc. for your area. Try to include the address (and especially city) in your suggestions. The guidelines for your area are some ideas for you, based on past experience in that area. Were always looking to update local area information, so we know how to effectively cover a market with SCI FI paraphernalia. |
